Work in groups of three. Use the models in 1 to make similar conversations for these situations. One of you is A, the others are B and C. Use the expressions below to help you.
1. A is a teacher, B is an exchange student from the US, and C represents the class. A introduces B to the whole class. B and C respond to the introduction.
2. A is a member and B is the president of ASEAN culture club. C is a new member. B introduces C to A. A and C respond to the introduction.

Mỗi nhóm gồm ba người (A, B, C). Dùng các mẫu câu *Introducing people* (giới thiệu) và *Responding* (đáp lời) trong bảng *Useful expressions*. Dưới đây là hai hội thoại mẫu tương ứng với hai tình huống.
a) Tình huống 1 — Trang trọng (Formal): A là giáo viên, B là học sinh trao đổi đến từ Mỹ, C đại diện cho lớp. A giới thiệu B với cả lớp; B và C đáp lời.
> A (teacher): Good morning, everyone. Today I'd like you to meet a new friend. May I introduce Peter, an exchange student from the United States? He'll be studying with us this semester.

> B (Peter): How do you do? I'm Peter. It's a pleasure to meet you all. I'm really happy to join your class.
>
> C (class representative): How do you do? On behalf of the class, welcome to our school, Peter. It's nice to meet you. We hope you'll enjoy your time here.

> B (Peter): Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to making friends with everyone.

b) Tình huống 2 — Thân mật/bán trang trọng (Informal/Semi-formal): A là một thành viên, B là chủ nhiệm (president) câu lạc bộ văn hóa ASEAN, C là thành viên mới. B giới thiệu C với A; A và C đáp lời.
> B (president): Hi, Linh. This is Minh, our new member of the ASEAN Culture Club. Let me introduce you to him. Minh, this is Linh, one of our active members.

> A (Linh): Hi, Minh. Nice to meet you! Welcome to the club. We're glad to have you with us.
>
> C (Minh): Hi, Linh. Pleased to meet you, too. I've heard a lot about the club's activities and I can't wait to take part in them.
>
> A (Linh): Great! Feel free to ask me anything if you need help.
(Vì là bối cảnh câu lạc bộ thân mật nên chọn mẫu *This is …*, *Let me introduce you to …* để giới thiệu và *Nice to meet you!*, *Pleased to meet you.* để đáp lời.)
Lưu ý về đăng ký ngôn ngữ (register):
- Tình huống 1 có giáo viên → dùng ngôn ngữ trang trọng: câu hỏi lịch sự *May I introduce …?* và lời đáp *How do you do? / It's a pleasure to meet you.*
- Tình huống 2 là bạn bè trong câu lạc bộ → dùng ngôn ngữ thân mật: *This is … / Let me introduce you to …* và *Nice/Pleased to meet you.*
