Bài 1 (trang 19). Interview some students about the changes they want to make in their community.

a) Interview 1 – Minh

- 1. Where do you live?
I live in Kim Lien Ward, in the centre of Ha Noi.
- 2. What is good about your community?
It's very convenient. There are many shops, schools and a big market near my house, and people here are friendly and helpful.
- 3. What is not good about your community?
There is too much traffic, so the air is often polluted and the streets are noisy. We also don't have many green spaces.
- 4. What changes do you want to make to improve your community?
I want to plant more trees and build a small park. I also think we should encourage people to use public buses instead of motorbikes to reduce pollution.

b) Interview 2 – Lan

- 1. Where do you live?
I live in a village in Bac Giang Province.
- 2. What is good about your community?
The environment is clean and quiet, and there are beautiful rice fields. Everyone knows each other, so it feels safe and close.
- 3. What is not good about your community?
There aren't many places for young people to study or have fun. The roads are small and get muddy in the rainy season.
- 4. What changes do you want to make to improve your community?
I'd like to build a public library and a sports ground for children. I also hope the local roads can be repaired and widened.

c) Interview 3 – Nam

- 1. Where do you live?
I live in a coastal town in Da Nang.
- 2. What is good about your community?
We have lovely beaches and fresh seafood, and many tourists visit our town.
- 3. What is not good about your community?
Some people throw rubbish on the beach, so it is sometimes dirty. In summer it is also very crowded.
- 4. What changes do you want to make to improve your community?
I want to organise beach clean-up days and put more rubbish bins along the beach. I also want to teach tourists and local people to protect the environment.
