When Charles Babbage has developed the idea of a computer in 1830, he could have had no idea how widespread computers would become. As recently as 1980, computers were used to be very expensive, but since then they have become cheaper every year. Every child now learns how to use a computer at school, and many have one at home that they use it to play games. So many different machines are available in nowadays that it can be difficult to choose which to buy. It depends, of course, on what do you want to use it for. If you just want to do word processing, there is no any point in buying a very expensive machine. If you have set up your heart on the very latest model, then buy it - though it is likely to be out of date within two years. “If I’d waited,” you’ll be saying, “I could have bought an even better one!”
